We Take On The Toughest Cases

Attorneys William “Bill” Fetky and Jonathan Petty have defended all levels of violent crimes, from misdemeanor charges to first-degree felonies punishable by life in prison:

  • Simple assault and domestic violence
  • Aggravated assault
  • Manslaughter
  • Murder
  • Carjacking
  • Armed robbery
  • Kidnapping
  • Sexual assault

We understand that a conviction means not only a felony record but the likelihood of time behind bars. Carjacking, for example, is punishable by up to 30 years in prison, harsher than any crime except murder. Aggravated assault or aggravated manslaughter are sometimes inappropriately charged, exaggerating the degree of injury or intent to harm. We explore all defenses and mitigating factors, from self-defense and mistaken identity to illegal search and seizure or conflicting accounts by witnesses or the alleged victims.

William Fetky is a former police officer and assistant prosecutor. Those insights help us find the weaknesses in the prosecution’s case to give us leverage in negotiations or in court. We are always prepared to go to trial if necessary to fight for our clients’ freedom.

Accustomed To High-Stakes, High-Profile Cases

Jonathan Petty recently defended Ted Connors, who was accused with his mother of plotting the 1994 and 1995 deaths of two family members. The murder trial in October 2021 ended in a hung jury mistrial. The case has attracted nationwide media attention, including a feature by ABC’s 20/20. Mr. Petty also represented former Rutgers University football player Izaia Bullocks, who was charged in 2019 with attempted murder and conspiracy. He won an important victory – upheld by a New Jersey appellate court – that dismissed damaging statements Bullocks made to police. We are not afraid of the public scrutiny in big cases, and we work to keep our clients out of the media spotlight and out of prison.
